Frugal Film Project – Dustin Cogsdell

Dustin Cogsdell

meet Dustin Cogswell, he’s a 31 year old Draft Beer Technician located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. For the project Dustin has chosen a Canon AE-1 that he found in a antique store for $25. It came with a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 lens and a flash. The meter is not working so Dustin will be using the Sunny 16 rule for exposure.

Processed With Darkroom

His film is Ultrafine Xtreme 400 that he sourced locally for $4 a roll and will develop at home in Rodinal, print on Ilford paper in his darkroom and then scan for the project.

Dustin also runs the Photography Print Swap group on Facebook and his work can be found on Instagram at @fortheloveofgrain

  1. I don’t know this film. Who is the maker please?

    1. Ultrafine is an American film supplier, you can find them here:

      1. Thank you. It looks to be an interesting film but it seems transport/postage to the UK make it far from ‘frugal’.

      2. Yes I could see where that could make things rather expensive!

What do you think?
