October | Frugal Film Project
These photos were shot on the last Sunday of October. Placita Olvera in downtown Los Angeles kicked-off its 9-day celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday to celebrate and remember the lives of departed loved ones.
People gathered around the plaza stage, singing and dancingalong as the mariachi band plays classic Mexican songs.
There were also community altars and ofrendas (offerings) on display throughout the square.
