This is a photo of the lampshade on the lamp that sits next to our sofa in the living room. I’ve always enjoyed the texture of the fabric and found the ways that the light plays off the shape of the lampshade pleasant…in a minimalistic sort of way. The smooth gentle curve of the lampshade, and the gradient pattern of light the bulb creates upon it soothes the soul. It seems such a simple thing to find peace in.
I sometimes think we, as photographers, try too hard when looking for subject matter. It really is all around us.
