Happy New Year!
A time of new beginnings and resolutions. I stopped making New Years resolutions years ago, since I always broke them… but last year I had success in a solo photography project, a 52 roll solo project. It was harder than I thought… but it allowed so much growth.
So… as the year was coming to a close it got me thinking… whats next? Should I continue or do something different? I had an idea last summer… but didn’t act on it. It wasn’t until appearing on the Negative Positives Film Photography Podcast (episode found here) that the idea came up again. Maybe it was time for action…
With a little trepidation, I put the idea “out there” and hoped a couple of people would join me… because a collaborative would be more fun than a solo project…
Imagine my shock and surprise when 12 other photographers from around the world wanted to join in! Yes!!! The past week it has been a flurry of getting to know one another better, decisions and setting things up! I’m still putting the finishing touches on the 52 roll project as well, but really looking forward to starting the Frugal Film Project! A collaborative featuring film cameras that cost under $50, cheap film and a whole lot of fun.
In the next few weeks, I will be introducing the photographers involved and their gear, content from January will be going live in February.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday and here’s to a brand new year!

I wouldn’t now enter in a project requiring some regular commitment but your Frugal Film Project, and particularly finding a tyke photographer who was was taking part (Graham Binns) with a Zeiss Ikonta made me decide to try my own ‘frugal film project’ using my Super Ikonta. More info at:
Best of luck!
