Frugal Film Project kicked off with a new-to-me camera, the Pentax ME Super with Pentax-M 50 f/2, and loaded with my favorite B&W film, Ilford HP5+. The January roll was shot at Thien Hau Temple, a Taoist temple in Los Angeles’ Chinatown.
I’ve photographed this place many times before, as I often take walks in the area when I need to clear my head after a busy and stressful night at work. It was still early when I arrived at the temple, and I was able to freely wander around to take photos. I took a few shots of the incense burner, but chose the photo of a single incense burning as my interpretation of January’s suggested theme, texture.
The film was developed using Kodak HC-110 dilution B and scanned with Epson V600
