For June I photographed a local landmark, the Grand View Hotel. It is one of the oldest hotels (pubs) in Queensland, being constructed around 1852. I love the horizontal lines made by the verandah, roof, and street – they contrast with the vertical lines of the palm trees that surround it.

Have you been to Key West, FL? I get that same feel from seeing this hotel.
I love that I looked at your photo and thought “Surely that’s in Queensland!”. I don’t think many Australian states have such obvious style.
